History

It all started twenty four years ago, when a local farmer presented the idea of starting an annual event promoting strawberry crops to community leaders.  In 1976 with the assistance of the Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce, Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, and local strawberry growers, the festival began.   With the goal of assisting the Belleville’s community service organizations with their fundraising efforts, the festival has successfully raised funds for over 40 community service organizations.  Every year for three days the town of Belleville becomes a strawberry wonderland.

The festival attracts more than 100,000 people throughout Michigan offering free entertainment, attractions and of course every type of strawberry treat.  The festival is definitely a berry good time for all ages!
